The Rasmus have been around alot longer than you'd think, They
started a band when they were just teenagers. "We were just kids who were let loose on a playground", singer Lauri says.
In 1996 they made their first album. They took the listening public and critics
by storm. And it wasn't long before their album went gold. They preformed over 100 gigs in a year, and as soon as
that was over they went back into the recording studio to record their second album Playboys. That also went to gold very
quickly. Soon after, The Rasmus received their first Finnish Grammy. The category was for Best
new act.

This picture was taken at the signing at leeds festival by my sister. Me, dylan
kayleigh and Richard all met the full band, they are all really nice! :)
The rasmus put on a really good show at leeds festival, they really knew how to get the crowd going!
And then after finishing one of their songs there was a pause.... Then of course the intro to "in the shadows" came on! The
crowd went wild! It was so exciting. Everybody was singing and cheering.
And then during the song there was another pause... So again the crowd was screaming, then lauri said
with a big smile on his face "shhh, wait" hehe. then the music came blasing on to the chorus! Which made the crowd sing harder!
It was an amazing place to be!
But at reading festival the people wasn't quite as nice to the rasmus... The was a sign saying "burn
the rasmus", botttles were constantly been thrown at the band and alto of other stuff, so much in fact the band had to leave
the stage sooner then they had hoped. I felt so sorry for the band and the few people that actually wanted to see them. This
proves my point that people can really suck....

Finland.
In 2001 the rasmus had a new record label and started supporting bands like HIM. They where HUGE in Finland.

Dead letters
"Each song is a letter to somebody. It could be an apology, confession or cry out
for help", singer Lauri explains
The Rasmus play rock, but in every song there is a strong melody with a catchy chorus.
Dead Letters touches with its raw and naked sounds. "The album is darker, moodier
and dreamier than anything we have done before", Eero (bass) concludes.
